Vi was a Teenager During the First Act of Arcane
Vi was introduced into the series as a teen between 14 to 16 years old. She was born Violet and is an elder sister to Powder/Jinx. Both were adopted by Vander after their parents were killed in a battle with Piltovan enforcers.
Life has made Vi a tough person. Her rebelliousness is well documented as she is always ready for a fight. It does not matter if you’re family, a peer, or authority figure, as anybody who gets in her way, will have to fight her.
Vi is also quite protective of younger sister Powder. Despite this, the two would later fall out after the consequences of them going on a heist came after them. Vander was also caught up in the drama as he was kidnapped in the process and Vi was unable to rescue him. She was later arrested and seemingly spent the rest of her teen years in prison.
Acts Two and Three of the Series Portray Vi as a Woman in Her Early 20s
Acts two and three of the series coincide with Vi’s release from prison and her activities from then onwards. She had also grown into a woman who was around 20 to 23 years. With the help of Sheriff Caitlyn, she sets off on fulfilling the first agenda on her list, which is to find Powder and apologize for the events of the last half a decade or so.
Nonetheless, when she eventually finds her sister, there is less of the character Powder and more of the character Jinx, and the latter would hear nothing of the apologies Vi tried to render. The two sisters would eventually end up on opposite sides of the struggle that characterized much of the series’ storyline.

Vi is older than her sister Jinx, the character we were first introduced to as Powder. They are one and the same. While Vi was around 16 years old in the first act of Arcane, Jinx was around 11 years old. This puts the age gap between them at 5 years.
In the second and third acts of Arcane, Vi has grown to become a fine young woman and so has her sister. While Vi is between 22 and 23 years old in the final two Arcane acts, Jinx is in her late teens between the ages of 17 and 18 years old.

Hailee Steinfeld was born on December 11, 1996, and is currently 28 years old. When Arcane was released in 2021, she was about 25 years old and the character she voiced was between 14 and 16 years old. This is an age difference of 11 to 13 years. By act two and three, Vi was between 22 and 23 years old. The age difference here reduced drastically to between 2 and 3 years.
With this, you can see that Steinfeld was significantly older than Vi in the first act but the gap reduces by the second and third acts.
