How Old is Vi in Arcane and What is Her Height?

Vi (full name: Violet) is around 14 to 16 years old during act one and around 20 to 23 years old during the second and third acts of the animated action-adventure sci-fantasy steampunk TV series, Arcane. Vi is also officially 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm) tall.

Set in Riot Games’ fictional universe of the League of Legends, Arcane was created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee for Netflix. The series, which was released on November 6, 2021, primarily focuses on the lives of League of Legends champions and sisters Vi and Jinx, as well as the history and politics of Piltover and Zaun and the invention of a new arcane technology known as Hextech.

Vi was a Teenager During the First Act of Arcane

Vi began the series as a teenager who was between the ages of 14 to 16 years old. Born Violet, the character is the elder sister to Powder/Jinx, and both of them were adopted by Vander after their parents were killed in a battle with Piltovan enforcers.

Season one of Arcane has nine episodes, and given that the series was divided into three acts of three episodes each, it confirms the fact that Vi was in the aforementioned age bracket for the first three episodes of the series that make up the first act.

Throughout the series, Vi is portrayed as being tough and cocky and a hothead who often seeks to settle her grievances with her fist. Her loose respect for authority figures was apparent, and it is quite significant to note that those personality traits were formed in her adolescent years.

Those traits also allowed her to be quite protective of her little sister Powder who had a knack for getting into trouble, particularly with their adopted brother Mylo.

Vi’s dissatisfaction with the state of things in her environment compelled her to lead a heist, alongside Powder, Mylo, and Clanger, that took place at an apartment at the top siders’ Piltover. Determined to get justice for the burglary, Piltover set its sights on making sure the culprits were duly punished.

Having led the heist, Vi wanted to surrender but failed after Vander locked her in a room. She looked on from the window as Silco took out Piltover enforcers before kidnapping Vander. In an attempt to get Vander back, Vi convinced Powder to stay back.

Long story short, she failed in her attempts and blamed it on Powder’s actions branding her a Jinx and storming off. She was arrested and seemingly spent the rest of her teen years in prison.

Acts Two and Three of the Series Portray Vi as a Woman in Her Early 20s

Acts two and three of the series coincide with Vi’s release from prison and her activities from then onwards. She had also grown into a woman who was around 20 to 23 years. With the help of Sheriff Caitlyn, she sets off on fulfilling the first agenda on her list, which is to find Powder and apologize for the events of the last half a decade or so.

Nonetheless, when she eventually finds her sister, there is less of the character Powder and more of the character Jinx, and the latter would hear nothing of the apologies Vi tried to render. The two sisters would eventually end up on opposite sides of the struggle that characterized much of the series’ storyline.

How Old is Vi Compared To Jinx in Arcane?

The age difference between Vi and Jinx in Arcane is five years. We arrived at this conclusion based on the fact that while Vi was around sixteen years during the first act of the series, Jinx, then known as Powder, was around eleven years old.

By the time acts two and three roll around, fans and viewers are introduced to Vi, who had grown into a fine woman of around 22 to 23 years during her time in prison. Alternatively, Jinx, who was forced to grow up fast during her sister’s incarceration, also graced the scenes as a late teen between ages seventeen and eighteen.

How Old is Vi Compared To Hailee Steinfeld?

On Paper, Vi is at least three years younger than Hailee Steinfeld, the actress who voiced her character. Steinfeld, an American actress and singer, was born on December 11, 1996, and is currently 27 years old.

She was born in Tarzana, California, and began her acting career in 2007. Her glittering career up to this point has seen her pick up several accolades, including a Critics’ Choice Movie Award and a Peabody Award.

It is significant to point out the fact that the actress voiced the character Vi in all three acts of the animation series. Significantly, it is worth noting that due to Vi’s different ages during the series, the age difference between the character and the actress who lent her voice to it.

During the first act, when Vi was around 14 to 16 years old, she was at least a decade younger than Steinfeld. The age difference significantly reduced during the second and third acts after a significant time jump that added at least six years to Vi.

How Tall is Vi in Arcane?

Vi reached a full height of 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm) in Arcane. While that figure does not place her in the same company as some of the series’ tallest characters like Caitlyn, Vander, and Jayce, all of whom are 6 feet tall or more, it does make her significantly taller than her sister Powder/Jinx who is around 5 feet 3 inches tall.

Given that Vi started the series as a 16-year-old teenager, there will always be questions about how tall she was at that time in her life. Vi was, however, tall for her age at 16, and there is every possibility that she had always been 5 feet 9 inches tall.

The only significant change to her physical appearance was that she became more muscular, with a more athletic physique. Her hairstyle also changed from a short hairstyle with one braid to punk hair with bangs going to the right side of her head.

The difference between Vi’s height and Hailee Steinfeld’s, the actress who voiced her character, is almost negligible because Vi is just an inch taller than the actress, who stands at an equally impressive height of 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm).
