Hunter Schafer Before Surgery

Schafer suffered from gender dysphoria by age 14 and was troubled by the appearance of male secondary sex characteristics such as facial hair. With the support of her family, she was placed on puberty blockers. This essentially blocked the manifestation of those male characteristics and gave her time to decide that she really wanted to transition.

Having come to a final decision, Hunter Schafer started taking estrogen at the age of 16. Other forms of hormone therapy followed, and she was able to transition. Some sources have it that Hunter Schafer underwent gender-affirming surgery at the age of 18. Through it all, her parents have remained supportive, doing all they can to be helpful, including using her preferred pronouns.

Does Jules Die in Euphoria?

Hunter Schafer’s character, Jules, does not die in Euphoria. She remains alive even at the end of season 2 of the show and reconciles with Rue, her estranged lover. The character will feature prominently when season 3 of Euphoria debuts. Jules, however, has to contend with serious issues. Asides from her mental well-being, she is threatened by Nate, whose father she slept with. He later tries to blackmail her with nude images she sent him, but they later make up.
