His parents were subpoenaed to testify while his sisters have reportedly lost their jobs due to their relationships with the alleged murderer.

Bryan Kohberger’s Dad

Bryan Kohberger’s father is Michael Kohberger. He was born in 1957 in the United States, which means he is now 67 years old. Of American nationality and white ethnicity, he was born into the family of Michael Francis Kohberger and Henrietta Kathy Votino and was brought up alongside two siblings.

Details about his childhood and education are not available to the public, but he is known to have lived in different parts of the United States, including New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania, where his family now resides.

He has worked as a maintenance worker for the Pleasant Valley School District. The older Kohberger has faced some serious financial issues in the past, forcing him to file for bankruptcy twice; first in 1995 and then in 2010.

The mother of Bryan is MaryAnn Racquel Ragonese Kohberger. She was born in 1962 in the United States into the family of Charles R. Ragonese. The 62-year-old lived a very quiet life for the better part of her life, so much that details about her childhood and who her parents might be are available in the public domain.

MaryAnn Kohberger was brought up in Brooklyn where she attended catholic academic institutions like St. Mary Star of the Sea and St. Joseph High School, where she graduated in 1978. It is unclear where she got her college education.

She has had a career in the academic field for many years. MaryAnn’s last known job was with Pleasant Valley School District, where she was the Paraprofessional Associate. MaryAnn had this job for more than two decades.

Bryan Kohberger Parents Had Him in 1994

It was in 1994 that Bryan Kohberger was born to his parents, Michael Kohberger and Maryann Kohberger, which means he is now 30 years old. He was born as the third child of the couple and their only son. A detailed look at his childhood has not been provided, but it is clear that he was brought up in a stable environment.

Kohberger is a well-read individual who holds an associate degree from Northampton Community College in 2018. The suspected killer went to DeSales University, where he studied criminology and graduated in 2022. At the time the crime was committed, Bryan was a student at Washington State University, where he was hoping to get a Ph.D. in criminal justice.

Career-wise, he had a job at WSU where he was a teaching assistant in criminal justice. He previously worked with Pleasant Valley School District, as a security Guard until August 2021 when he called it quits.

For a better part of his life, Kohberger had lived a very quiet, though not problem-free life. He was arrested in 2014 after his father reported him to cops for stealing an iPhone belonging to his sister. At the time, he was battling drug addiction.

The height of his criminal life came on November 13 when he allegedly killed 4 students of the University of Idaho; Ethan Chapin, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21. He allegedly fled the scene of the crime to which he was later linked through cellphone records, his DNA found on a KA-BAR knife close to the bodies, and a car believed to be his which was seen speeding away from the scene of the crime.

He was finally caught at Albrightsville, Pennsylvania before he was extradited to Idaho where he faces charges relating to the crime which could get him life behind bars or even the death penalty if convicted.

Bryan Kohberger’s Sisters

The rest of Bryan Kohberger’s family members are his sisters, Amanda Marie Kohberger – who is the first child of the family, and Melissa Ann Kohberger – the middle child.

Amanda Marie Kohberger was born in 1988 in Pennsylvania, which was where she spent her early life before the family later moved to Brooklyn, New York. The 36 year old got her education from Pleasant Valley High School where she graduated in 2006.

Amanda Kohberger has had a career as an actress but she did not go far with it as her only known role was in the 2011 film, Two Days Back. By coincidence, the only film she was credited with was a low-budget horror production in which young students on a hiking trip were slashed and killed by a maniac killer. She switched to becoming a medical specialist and worked as a Counselor in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. As regards her personal life, Amanda is still not married at the moment.

Three years after the birth of Amanda, the next child of the family is 33 years old Melissa Ann Kohberger who was born in 1991. Following in the footsteps of her older sister, Melissa also attended Pleasant Valley High School, although rather than acting, her interest was initially athletics.

Following her educational pursuits, Melissa took a job as a Counselor. Se is not yet married.

Bryan Kohberger’s Family Members Have All Been Affected By His Alleged Crime

Bryan Kohberger’s family members have not only had to deal with the bad publicity his alleged crime has brought to the family but they have also been affected directly. Even though the family released a statement after his arrest that they were intending to keep supporting and loving him, his sisters have refused to visit him at the Latah County Jail where he is held without bail.

This action by the sisters is not enough to protect them from taking a hit due to the alleged crime committed by their younger brother. It has been reported that the two sisters have since been fired from their jobs.

While Melissa was said to have lost her position as a mental health therapist in New Jersey, her older sister who as indicated, is a former actress, was also fired from her work as a counselor. This came about even though neither of them has been implicated in the crime of the brother in any way.

The parents of Bryan Kohberger have also been affected as they are reported to be facing serious financial difficulties. Michael and Maryann Kohberger were already retired when the offense was committed. Their support only came from their daughters who are now left with no jobs.

More so, the couple was made to testify before a grand jury in a separate crime over the disappearance of a former neighbor who was later found dead, Dana Smithers. This was done so as to find out if their son was involved in her death.
