Is Good Girls Cancelled, or Is It Coming Back?

Good Girls has been canceled and is not coming back. The NBC crime drama was canceled back in June 2021 during the run of its 4th season. It, therefore, meant that everyone already knew that the last episode of Season 4 was going to be the series finale, and as such, the producers tried as much as possible to tie up loose ends. The finale was two hours long, all in a bid to give fans a semblance of closure.

Why Was Good Girls Cancelled?

Good Girls was canceled because of falling ratings. When the series initially debuted on NBC in 2018, it averaged six million viewers each episode. This fell to about three million for Seasons 2, 3 and 4. NBC wasn’t simply getting a peak performance from the series, so they decided to pull the plug.

However, before doing that, there were really efforts to save Good Girls. The plan was that season 5 would be produced and streamed on Netflix, but at the end of the day, the numbers didn’t simply add up, and the series was done away with.

Who Ruined Good Girls 5?

It is believed that Manny Montana ruined the possibility of Good Girls 5. Montana plays the role of Rio, a gang leader who is one of the show’s favorite characters. Reports have it that the cast members of Good Girls were all prepared to take a pay cut to make Good Girls 5 happen on Netflix, but Manny stuck to his guns and ruined the whole thing for everyone.

One of the stars of the show, Retta (who plays Ruby), without mentioning names, stated that she was really salty with the person who ruined Good Girls 5 and that she had suggested creative ways to write out the person’s character, all to no avail.

How Many Seasons of Good Girls Are There?

There are four seasons of Good Girls. Season 1 had only 10 episodes and originally aired from the 26th of February 2018 to the 20th of April 2018. Season 2 of Good Girls premiered on the 3rd of March 2019. It had a total of 13 episodes and continued airing up until 26 May 2019.

On the 16th of February 2020, fans got their first glimpse of the first episode of Season 3 of Good Girls. The season had a reduced number of episodes, 11, and aired up until the 3rd of May 2020. Season 4 of Good Girls, which eventually turned out to be the finale season, came with 16 episodes and ran from the 7th of March 2021 to the 22nd of July 2021.
