What was King Von’s Cause of Death?
There are many people who have survived being shot multiple times. Rapper 50 cent is the most popular person in the hip hop community to have survived multiple gun shot wounds. King Von wasn’t as lucky as he died after being shot multiple times.
The autopsy report of the late rapper confirmed this. The Fulton County Medical Examiner authoritatively stated that Von died from multiple gunshot wounds. It was stated in the report that Von’s body had evidence of at least six gunshots – one in right hand, three in his chest, and one in the head. The gun shot to the head is believed to have been the fatal blow; it penetrated Von’s right eye and exited through the back of his skull.
The report also stated that traces of burnt powder was found on the rapper’s skin. This points to the fact that he was shot at close range.
Besides the gunshots, the autopsy noted that Von was intoxicated at the time of his death. His blood alcohol level was 0.19% – more than twice the legal limit. This is no surprise seeing that the incident that led to his death happened outside a nightclub. Traces of marijuana, codeine, and promethazine were also found in his system.
King Von’s Autopsy
About a week following his passing, an extremely graphic photo of King Von lying on the autopsy table with several stitches across his torso went viral. Reacting to this, Von’s sister Kayla called for the immediate sacking of the mortician who had allegedly shared pictures of her brother’s autopsy.

Edmund Donoghue, the pathologist who conducted Von’s autopsy, revealed that the fatal gunshot was the one to the back of the rapper’s head; it was execution style.
Donoghue was suggesting that Von had been murdered by an acquaintance, most likely someone he had even trusted, since all shots were clean and well-placed with no signs of struggle or any defensive wounds on his body. This does show that Von was probably shot at a time when his guard was down. When the report came out, it sent shock waves throughout the hip-hop world, and many wondered what had actually occurred.
Is King Von’s Murder Case Still Open?
Following King Von’s death, the authorities arrested someone in connection with his murder. The whole incident was recorded and so the police had no issue in quickly identifying Timothy Leeks as Von’s killer.
