King Von Autopsy Report With Pictures and Video: What Actually Happened?

King Von was an up-and-coming Chicago rapper who died in Atlanta as a result of a shootout that escalated from an altercation between two groups of men.

What Happened to King Von?

Davyon Daquen Bennet, more popularly known as King Von, was a rising American rapper who died during a shootout at the age of 26. On the night of November 6, 2020, the Chicago-born rapper was reported to have been involved in a heated argument between his crew and Quando Rondo outside the Monako Hookah Lounge in Atlanta.

The argument quickly erupted into a shootout which led to the rapper’s death and that of two other men. The gunshots drew the attention of three policemen to the scene of the crime. Sadly, they were too to prevent the homicide.

Where was King Von Pronounced Dead?

King Von was officially pronounced dead at a local Atlanta hospital. After news of his death, rumors went around that the “Welcome to O’Block” rapper had died at the scene of the crime. However, the Atlanta Police Department confirmed that he was driven to an area hospital in a private car while he was in critical condition, but was later confirmed dead there.

What was King Von’s Cause of Death?

The autopsy report for the late rapper, which was released by the Fulton County Medical Examiner on 10 November 2020, revealed that he had died from multiple gunshot wounds. According to the report, King Von’s body had evidence of at least six gunshots, with one to his right hand, three to his chest, and one to the back of his head.

The latter, which is believed to have been the fatal gunshot, was said to have penetrated Von’s right eye and exited through the back of his skull. The report also showed that there were traces of burnt powder on the rapper’s skin, indicating that he was shot at close range. Although the police haven’t revealed whether or not they found any guns on or near the dead rapper’s body, witnesses claimed that he was unarmed during the shootout.

Besides the gunshots, the autopsy result also revealed the rapper to have been heavily drunk and high on substances before he died. His blood alcohol level was revealed to have been more than twice the legal limit at 0.19%. While traces of marijuana, codeine, and promethazine were also found in his system at the time of his death.

King Von’s Autopsy 

About a week after his death, a highly graphic photo of the late ”O’Block” narrator lying on the autopsy table with several stitches around his chest and torso surfaced. Reacting to the disturbing development, Von’s sister Kayla called out the mortician who allegedly shared the pictures of her brother’s autopsy, asking for his immediate dismissal.

While several netizens were intrigued by the highly graphic photos and even spread them across the internet, fans of the late rapper found them highly offensive and disgusting, as these photos once again reminded them of the vicious nature of the fave’s death. 

Controversies Surrounding King Von’s Autopsy Report

While the autopsy report clearly showed the cause of King Von’s death, a lot of questions by hip-hop lovers concerning the star rapper’s death have remained unanswered. In an analysis of Von’s autopsy by Edmund Donoghue, the pathologist revealed that the fatal gunshot to the back of the rapper’s head was execution-style.

Donoghue suggested that Von was killed by someone he knew and possibly trusted, because all the shots were clean and precise, and there were no signs of struggle or defensive wounds on his body. This also suggests that Von might also have been shot in his sleep. Donoghue’s report sent an uproar throughout the hip-hop community, with many fans wondering who the murderer could have been.

Is King Von’s Murder Case Still Open?

King Von’s murder case was declared closed following the arrest of Timothy Leeks, the prime suspect in the murder case. The then 22-year-old Timothy was present at the scene of the shootout where he sustained some gunshot injuries and was later arrested by the police at Grady Hospital where he was undergoing treatment. After his arrest, the Atlanta Police Department classified the King Von murder case as closed.
