When Did White Chicks Come Out?
White Chicks came out on the 23rd day of June 2004. The comedy film features two brothers, Marlon and Shawn Wayans, as two FBI agents, Marcus Anthony II and Kevin Copeland, respectively, tasked with the lowly task of protecting two blonde heiresses – Brittany and Tiffany Wilson, from kidnappers.
To do their job, the two brothers, both black men, disguise themselves as the Wilson sisters to smoke out the kidnappers. The transformation of the two African-American brothers into two blonde empty heads was quite hilarious in itself. Beyond appearance, the fact that many didn’t know about their real identity made for several hilarious antics throughout the duration of the film.
When White Chicks was released, it was eviscerated by the critics, but it was nevertheless lapped up by moviegoers, grossing $113.1 on a budget of $37 million. As years passed by, the film grew into a cult classic, and as such, new and old generations of fans have yearned for a sequel.
Will There Be a White Chicks 2?
There is no release date nor trailer for White Chicks 2, as the film has not been approved for production. However, there will likely be White Chicks 2 someday in the future, as fans have continuously clamored for it. This clamor, as well as all the speculations surrounding White Chicks 2, go back several years.
As far back as 2009, which was five years after the first film was released, distribution company Sony Pictures announced that there would be White Chicks 2, but nothing came of it. By 2014, one of the lead stars as well as one of the film’s producers, Marlon Wayans, stated that there were some hindrances to making the film but that a White Chicks sequel was a must.

Given all this stress, Marlon Wayans has stated that he would only do a White Chicks 2 if there is a technology that can digitally transform him and his brother into white ladies without stressing them so much. Such words seem like a death knell on the possibility of White Chicks 2, but there is still hope.
While appearing on the Drink Champs Podcast with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN in April 2023, Marlon Wayans stated that he would do a White Chicks 2 but that it would have to be him and Shawn together again. He went on to make it clear that he didn’t want to say too much, perhaps not to jinx the project.
Also, in May 2023, a White Chicks 2 poster started circulating on social media. Marlon had to come out and deny it and stated that the poster was fake. Fans of the franchise were none too happy with him and pleaded with him and his brother to release something, even a snippet, for them.
