How Does Hange Die in Attack on Titan?
Hange Zoe died from the burns she sustained from being too close to the Titans, as well as the fact that the Titans trampled upon her. In the lead-up to her demise, the brave Zoe and other members of the Survey Corps had formed an alliance with multiple individuals such as Armin, Reiner, and Pieck, and groups to stop Eren’s rumbling.
As the battle raged on, the alliance relied on a flying boat and worked hard to get it ready. The Titans, however, catch up with them before they can flee in the boat, and they are forced to battle them. In order to buy her pals enough time to escape on the flying boat, Hange Zoe faces the Titans head-on and kills about four of them.
However, in the process of doing so, she has to get close to them and suffers severe burns from the heat radiating from them (colossal titans can release hot steam from inside their bodies). They also trample on her, and she finally succumbs to her injuries and dies. She is later welcomed to the afterlife and told to chin up as she did her best to stop the rumbling.

Hange lost her eye during an explosion caused by Bertolt Hoover’s transformation into a colossal titan. The transformation left her left eye badly injured, and she couldn’t see out of it. She took to wearing a black eye patch to cover up the eye. She also wore her glasses over the black eye patch. Hange never allowed the loss of her left eye to affect her scientific work to devise means of conquering the Titans. She also didn’t shy away from physical battles as well. She was simply an honorable and stand-up fellow.
