Bakugou used to bully Izuku when they were kids out of jealousy, but they grow up and make their way through the Heroes School together and become formidable partners. They engage in many battles together and save each other’s lives on several occasions. Izuku is 5 feet 5 inches tall, meaning that Bakugou is about three inches taller than him.

Did Bakugou Die?

Bakugou died in chapter 362 of My Hero Academia manga titled Light Fades To Rain in a fierce battle with Tomura Shingaraki, the leader of the League of Villains and one of his arch-nemesis.

In the course of facing a barrage of attacks from Tomura, Bakugou relies on his explosion quirk, the ability to forge explosions with his hands, to fight back. While this is all well and good, his ability comes with some negative side effects, such as sweat beads stored in his glands. It causes him body pains, and he becomes weak. While he lies on the ground, Tomura gets a chance to punch Bakugou in the chest causing his heart to burst.

Bakugou doesn’t stay dead for long as his pals and fellow pro heroes, Edgeshot and Best Jeanist, come to his rescue. Edgeshot helps to stem the flow of blood from Bakugou’s heart, using his ability to shrink his body size. Best Jeanist, on the other hand, sews the damaged portions of Bakugou’s body. He is later resuscitated and comes back to life while Edgeshot dies, showing that he gave his life to save Bakugou.

Bakugou’s death has not yet occurred in My Hero Academia anime series, as the first 6 seasons cover only chapters 1 to 328 of the manga and has yet to reach 362, where he dies. There is a good chance that he will die and be resurrected in the anime once season 7, which is already in production, is released. Then again, the creators of the show reserve the right to tweak the stories a bit. They might decide to leave out the drama of his death, seeing as he would later come back to life.
