Black Clover is coming back on the 16th of June, 2023. That is when the spin-off movie titled Black Clover: Sword of the King will start airing on Netflix.
Black Clover anime series has three seasons and a total of 170 episodes which ran from October 2017 to March 2021. Following the airing of the 170th episode, the makers announced that the series would not continue and that the remaining chapters of the manga series would be captured in a new film. It is this new film that will be released on Netflix on the 16th of June, 2023.
How Many Episodes Does Black Clover Have?
Black Clover has a total of 170 episodes which span seasons 1 to season 3. The first episode aired on its original network, Tokyo TV, on the 3rd of October 2017. The last episode aired on the 30th of March 2021.
Black Clover chronicles the adventures of two young orphans, Asta and Yuno, who come from a kingdom where human beings have magical powers. Yuno has impressive magical powers, while Asta lacks same and makes up for it with his physical prowess.
Both boys dream of becoming the wizard king of their kingdom and have to battle against several powerful foes, including fellow humans, demons, and devils, in order to protect their kingdom and ultimately achieve their personal quest.
How Many Seasons of Black Clover Are There?
Black Clover has three seasons. The first season was originally broadcasted from the 3rd of October 2017 to the 25th of September 2018. The first season of Black Clover covers volumes one to nine of the manga, which is the same thing as chapters 1 – 75, as written by Yuki Tabatha.
The first season of Black Clover focuses on Asta and other members of the Black Bulls, namely the likes of Yuno and Noelle, as they fight off many battles in their quest to protect their cherished kingdom.
Season two of Black Clover was originally broadcasted in Asia from the 2nd of October 2018 to the 24th of September 2019. It starts from where Black Clover season one left off in volume nine and continues up until volume 17 of the manga. The chapters that are captured are 76 to 159. The battles are no less fierce this time around as Asta and his fellow pals go up against villains of various shapes and sizes.
The third season of Black Clover has 68 episodes which began airing on the 1st of October 2019. It ran continuously up until early 2020 when production was temporarily halted as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which swept through the globe and killed many people as well as shut down many businesses.
Black Clover season three resumed in July 2020, and the final 68th episode was broadcast on the 30th of March 2021. It covered volumes 17 to 23, which are chapters 160 to 228 of the manga. A few episodes are, however, gotten outside these chapters.
When is the Next Season of Black Clover?
The next season of Black Clover will come out in June 2023. It is not actually another season in the animated series but rather a full-length movie that will carry on from where the animated series stopped. The movie is titled Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, and all the favorite characters from the manga, namely Asta and Yuno, will be making a return.
The story will still focus on Asta’s efforts to become the new wizard king. However, this time around, he has to battle against the resurrected wizard kings of old, namely Edward Avalaché, Conrad Leto, Princia Funnybunny, and Jester Garandaros.
When Do New Episodes of Black Clover Come Out?
New episodes of Black Clover will come out on the 16th of June, 2023. This is the date on which the animated movie Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King will be released on Netflix. The film carries on from where the animated series stops as the series has been discontinued. Black Clover will be exclusive to Netflix, but there is the possibility that other platforms would carry it, especially in Asia.
