Is Toji Fushiguro Dead?

Yes, Toji Fushiguro died in the manga. He, in fact, died twice in the manga. First, he died during a fight with Satoru, and the second time, he died by suicide.

In chapter 70 of the manga, during his final mission for the Time Vessel Association, which he completed, Toji allowed his pride get the best of him, and instead of running and avoiding a fight with a revitalized Satoru Gojo – the most powerful sorcerer, he allowed his hate for the Jujutsu world and sorcerer families to rule him.

Together with his pride and desire to spite the Jujutsu world, he chose to fight Satoru, and it cost him his life when Suguru summoned two very powerful cursed spirits. He ignored his natural instincts and the unease that plagued him throughout the battle because he was unable to see past his demons.

At first, in his usual cold persona, Toji refused to say any final words. Still, in his very last dying moments, he thought of his son and his ex-wife and proceeded to inform Satoru that, in a few years, Megumi would be sold into the Zenin Family. As a result, Satoru would later become Megumi’s close mentor and provide him the opportunity to work as a jujutsu sorcerer.

After Toji’s death, his soul was brought back from the dead by Granny Ogami’s séance technique. This transformed him into a living embodiment of destruction with a desire to attack and crush anything in his path, especially the strongest opponents available.

After endangering his son during one of his violent outbursts, Toji opted to return to death by taking his own life in chapter 113 of the manga to save his son. This he did without ever mentioning who he was to his son. Toji also reveals that he is pleased to learn that Megumi calls himself a Fushiguro rather than a Zenin.

Because young Megumi had the potential to become a real sorcerer, Toji sold him to the Zenin family. He named his son Megumi which means “blessings.”

Toji’s Son was Mentored by Satoru Gojo

Megumi is a deuteragonist in Jujutsu Kaisen and was born outside the clan. However, he is a descendant of the Zenin family, a grade 2 Jujutsu Sorcerer, and a first-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High. Megumi was found by Satoru Gojo, who mentored and enrolled him at Jujutsu High.

Megumi’s character was introduced in chapter 1 of the manga and episode 1 of the anime. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall with black colored hair, green eyes in the manga, and blue eyes in the anime.  He has one of the highest potentials of any Jujutsu High student, regardless of age, and is also favored by the strongest sorcerer. Megumi inherited the coveted Ten Shadows Technique from the Zenin clan, and his cursed tool is a single-edged sword with a jet-black blade that was light and easy to conceal.
